"Rio Grande Southern plow-flanger 02"

The Rio Grande Southern was a three foot gauge railroad that ran from Ridgeway to Dolores, Colorado, over the San-Juan mountains and with some of the steepest grades and heaviest snowfalls in North America. This little plow was used for many years, along with a much larger rotary snowplow, to clear the deep drifts and keep the railroad in operation through the winter. It is basically a conversion from a typical plow-flanger used by the RGS (01), and similar plow-flangers used by the Denver and Rio Grande Western railroad.

This model was built from a Durango Press kit and is in 0 (1/48) scale, 3' gauge.
